2015 Fox RC4 kashima 230 x 65 or 241 x 76 please read!

This shock is a little bit special.

It's a 2015 Fox RC4 that was originally 241 x 76mm or 9.5" x 3" if you're over 90 and still read in shillings and inches.

But I wanted to run it on my 2021 santa cruz nomad which needs a 230 x 62.5 metric shock.

I remember these shocks being the dogs toenails back in the day and to be fair they can still hold their own in today's market.

They have a nice array of adjustments that I think can rival the new standard for high and low speed this and negative volume pressure that.

This shock features high and low speed compression adjustment, a single rebound adjustment (see vorsprungs video on why high speed rebound could just be removed from the face of the earth) and a very trick feature in the piggy back. An air assist bottom out feature that can fine tune the shock entirely, and allow a little cush for those massive cases.

So when my DHX2's waters broke I decided to pick one of these up, take it bits and see if I could shorten the stroke to run it on my bike for a bit.

Turns out you can.. I work in a tool room so I made a nice little aluminium piston head that presses into the bump stop groove to bring the whole shock 11mm shorter, then I added a plastic spacer to the shaft to get the required stroke for my bike (62.5mm)

I've listed the shock at both sizes because I can easily reverse the stroke change and bring the shock back to its original 241 x 76.
