We are an independent mom-and-pop bicycle and hockey shop located just off of International Ave in Calgary's SE. We have been serving Calgary, area, and beyond for over 50 years - we've built a reputation in the local cycling communities for our high quality of service.

Description:

We are currently seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our team as a full-time Experienced Bicycle Technician. A successful applicant will be an active biking enthusiast who is personable and dependable, with previous experience in the bicycle industry as a bicycle technician.

Qualifications:

Strong communication and customer service skills.
Strong knowledge of bicycle componentry, repair, and best practices.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Maintain positive working relationships with customers, other staff, and management.
Strong sense of workspace organization.
Excellent time management. Strong sense of punctuality.
Ability to problem-solve with customers, other staff, and management.
Flexibility to work overtime when needed - especially to finish tasks and to tend to customers.

Responsibilities:

Provide customer service to shop customers.
Provide accurate information to customers; answer customer questions and provide advice.
Determine the services, installations, or repairs needed by customers.
Accurately estimate the cost of parts, labour, and all other services required for a customer's work order. Estimate and/or quote prices, trade-in allowances, warranties, and delivery dates.
Execute bicycle service work orders accurately and within stated budgets and on-time.
Process work orders including logs of work completed and parts used/installed.
Resolve customer disputes or complaints amicably and professionally.
Maintain repair records.
Assemble or disassemble manufactured parts as needed.
Align or adjust clearances of mechanical components or parts.
Install bicycle tubes and tires.
Repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged bicycle components as needed.
True bicycle wheels.
Install, repair, and replace bicycle parts or accessories such as handlebars, kickstands, lights, and seats, etc.
Advise customers on use and care of merchandise. Provide advice to customers concerning specialized products or services.
Assemble new bicycles.
Report problems - such as customer complaints - and inventory shortages to supervisor or management.
Maintain and clean shop displays and work areas.
Share knowledge and insight with coworkers and other staff when needed.
Support other store departments when needed (e.g. install hockey stick and skate blades).
