2019 Vitus Escarpe (upgraded)

Vitus Escarpe medium upgraded full suspension enduro bike.

New parts added include Shimano Zee 4 pot brakes, 200mm discs, 160mm pike ultimate charger 2.1 damper forks, meg neg rear can, and enduro max frame bearings all round.

What started off as a capable trail bike is now a real enduro machine, with the added travel and stopping power, plus increased negative air chamber in the rear which allows for small bump compliance whilst running high pressure – avoiding heavy bottom outs without need for tokens. The shock was recently serviced.

I've also stripped and rebuilt the frame, after powder coating black and using enduro max frame bearings for increased longevity.

It still has the original 10speed Shimano drivetrain, but with the new 30t front ring, the 10-48 range is in no way lacking on the hills. Gear changes are smooth, clutch never drops a chain, and new chain fitted recently.

The brand x ascend 150mm dropper post paired with the bontrager lever is responsive and never lets me down, and even features a hidden valve to top up air if needs be…a fantastic feature.

The wtb sti25 rims with novatec hubs are bombproof, they're true with good spokes and a recent rear hub rebuild has them running smoother than ever.

Finished off with fresh deathgrips up front, dmr V12 pedals and tubeless tan wall dhfs front and rear, it really does look and ride great!

Bike has had recent (ish) work including general service, shock service and hub rebuild, gear adjustments and new chain (was in winter 2022, but have only ridden a few miles since due to a combination of injury, bad weather and holidays). Bike has never been jet washed, and all components work as they should. All in all it's had around 800 miles use, probably around 200 since rebuild/new components according to strava.

Bad points – some lacquer rub/scratches on the frame, fork lower stickers are scratched, saddle is scuffed, tyres and sealant could do with replacing at some point (can supply brand new DHF & DHR's), could do with new front pads but they still stop fine (rear brand new), pedals very scuffed and scratched but pins intact and bearings fine, crank arms have usual wear marks, some components have some scratches (dérailleur, bars, wheels, levers etc) – all cosmetic, top bottle cage mount bolt head snapped off – left as is as cage is secure and never effected use. However everything works as it should and this bike is ready to roll.

All in all a great bike perfect for slaying the trails :)

Would potentially swap for XC full suspension 29er. Can potentially also deliver in Sussex (during mid to late December) or Somerset/west country area for petrol money by prior arrangement.
