Early 2000’s Ventana El Testigo Experto long travel tandem, size 17”.

Very few were manufactured and they are built to last. 160mm of rear travel, adjustable chain stays, huge bearings pivots, and big ground clearance, you will probably run out of nerve before the bike runs out of capability.

This bike is in excellent condition with no substantial blemishes or damage.

We are 5’7” and 5’4” respectively with a combined weight of about 320 lbs.

Dimensions (approx):
Head tube: 1 1/8” straight, 140mm
Top tube, captain: 545mm (560 effective)
Seat tube, captain: 430mm
Seat tube, stoker: 380mm
Stand over, captain: 780mm
Stand over, stoker: 720mm

Fork Rock Shox Totem Air: NON-FUNCTIONAL! Steerer tube has been extended and I cannot recommend that anyone ride it. Plan on putting either a dual crown or something like a Fox 38 on this bike. It will also need a new front wheel since the current one uses an obsolete 20mm thru axle.

Rear shock: Fox X2 in excellent condition

Rear hub: Chris King with bolts to replace original quick release

Cranks: da Vinci tandem cranks, 175 & 165mm. These have very sturdy one piece timing spiders that give good ground clearance. Be aware, they use square taper BB’s.

Eccentric: upgraded to Niner external eccentric

Transmission: Shimano XT 11sp cassette and rear derailleur, XTR shifter

Wheel, rear: 26” Sun Singletrack 32h with Kenda Nevegal 2.7” tire. Plenty of tire clearance in middle chainstay position.

Wheel, front: 26” Sun Rhyno Lite rim, 32h. Note front with have to be replaced or have hub swapped.

This bike could easily accommodate a 29” front wheel and at least a 27.5 rear. I also strongly recommend Cushcore inserts for this bike. They didn’t exist when I last rode it, but would make a huge difference.

Seatposts: 27.2mm Thomson & PNW dropper

Stems: Marin 85mm & Co-Motion adjustable

Saddles: Terry Fly (stoker saddle not included)

Brakes: Avid Code 1st generation with 8” rotors

Captain’s handlebar: Race Face Next 31.6mm. Way too narrow by current standards.

Stoker’s handlebar: FSA XC190 alloy 31.6mm

Headset: Chris King 11/8” with extra tall lower race

Optional Hopey hydraulic steering damper if you want it.

Pedals: various Crank Brothers Eggbeater, Candy, or Mallet upon request. The stoker needs to be clipped in for off road riding!

In SoCal, but I can deliver along I15 corridor anywhere between San Diego and central Utah
