My New Year's Resolution is to downsize my bike clutter.

I bought this Miyata in disrepair, with a stuck seatpost and stem. I got them unstuck and stripped the frame down and donated the worn out and unoriginal, undesirable parts. Now this puppy dog is ready to be rebuilt and ridden.

What's included?
- frame - 24 1/2" AKA 62cm center to center
- fork
- Tange headset; replacement 5/32" bearings, if you ask/remind me, but c'mon, those are CHEAP, chap!
- SR Laprade 26.8mm
- SR Apex 86 BCD trippel crank
- seatpost binder bolt/pin (not original, I had one on hand that was the right diameter--smaller than usual--but I needed a couple washers to make the fit right)
- original 27" wheels with Suzue hubz, Araya rims, freewheel, QRs, and Sketch (TM) tubes, tires, rim tape--if you want to forgo these, I will donate them to the co-op and your shipping charge will be reduced and I'll refund the overage
- original Dia Compe canti brakes with straddle cable, cable hangahs and pads (that I recommend thou replaceth)

What you should know: from my perspective, the numero uno thing you need to know is that this was designed as a 27" (630BSD) frame. With cantilever brakes it's generally a crapshoot if that will convert to the more common 700C (_not_ 700CC) BSD/wheelsize which has better rims, brakes and just better S.e.L.e.C.t.I.o.N. But I adjusted the brake pads and looks like 700C (622 BSD), up to 35mm, will work Jim Dandy on this bad boy. Or you could get some nice 27" tires like the Swift Tires Sand Canyon or the good ol' Pasela.

Beyond that, this is a siq UJB tourer from the early days of UJBs. Unlike later Miyatas, this uses "Tange Champion" (no number--e.g. Champion 1, Champion 2...) tubing, and a hi-ten fork. I'll give you a high five if you can explain the metalurgical difference between hi-ten, mild steel, chromoly and the "really good stuff" like Reynolds 531, 631, 753, 853, Columbus, True Temper. There are braze ons, but no low rider rack brazeons and only water bottle braze ons on the seat tube. It's definitely "of an era". Also the 26.8mm SR Laprade seatpost suffered some scuffs when it got unstuct. I have ball bearings for the headset but haven't overhauled it. I can give you a bag of bearings if you remind me. Also, as Lord Grant Petersen (Rivendell) hath spoken, this frame doth hath BEAUSAGE!

I have a nice set of 35mm Gravel Kings and a set of Dura Ace freewheel + polished Velo Orange (VO) rims if you want to remain "period almost-correct" for Eroica, Erotica and such.

The blaque Shimano 700C wheels with the 32mm GKs are not included. They're in the pics so you can see the clearance, Clarence.

Shipping is via my choice of UPS/USPS but probably UPS, with insurance and a helluva good packing job (by yours truly...). Pick up in Yorba Linda, CA (Orange County) is not only allowed but encouraged
$200 USD
