Juliana Joplin C 27.5+ (Medium)

Lightly ridden, the bike has been in storage until recently, fully serviced ahead of listing for sale.

GEAR LAB VERDICT The Juliana Joplin 2.0 Carbon conjures up a perfect storm of speed and agility. Surprisingly, packs a loud and vocal punch with its tight suspension, 1116mm wheelbase, and wide-range SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain. The Joplin steals the show with its ability to take on bigger hits despite its trim 110mm of Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) travel, and it handles the chop with remarkable composure. For a bike that was designed to climb like a cross-country rig, the Joplin met our expectations. This bike is efficient and navigates uphill switchbacks beautifully. Its pep and stamina is impressive and is conducive to long days in the saddle. The Juliana uses a dialed women-specific shock tune which allows female riders to get more out of the killer VPP suspension design.

The setup is custom for lighter riders since Juliana calculates that typical women cyclists are around 30lb lighter, on average, than men. No more having to send your shock to a shop to get a custom tune or using all of that VPP travel. If you’re wanting extra traction and a more forgiving ride over roots and babyhead rocks, the 27.5+ on this build is the way to go. If you’re looking for quick acceleration and a nimble feel, the good news is that a wheel swap lets you run larger diameter 29er wheels and tires.

The Joplin C S is a zesty short travel trail bike that leans towards the XC side of the trail riding spectrum. This is an energetic and playful bike with decisively quick handling and surprisingly composed and confident trail manners. The 110mm of rear and 120mm of front wheel travel situate the Joplin squarely in the short-travel category. The VPP suspension platform provides a notably supportive rear end. It has a quick and lively feel on the climbs, with excellent handling and sharp turning radius thanks to its shorter wheelbase and steeper head tube angle. This is an excellent option for the rider who seeks a lively and agile ride, values efficiency, and prefers a more calculated approach on the descents.

The Joplin is outfitted with a 120mm Fox 34 Float Performance up front and a Fox Float Performance DPS in the rear.

The Joplin features carbon fiber frame with 110mm of Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) travel. This is a dual-link system that features a link near the bottom bracket and another about 60% up the seat tube. As the bike moves through its travel, the links rotate in opposite directions. This design is known for its excellent climbing abilities and deep stroke support.

The SRAM Level TL brakes provide substantial power with a controlled feel to the brake lever.
