Named after Connecticut's first State Forest, the Meshomasic Hiking Club leads over 300 hikes per year and conducts regular work parties at Hurd State Park and Meshomasic State Forest for trail maintenance.
Other activities include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and cycling (mainly rail trails).
See the web site for months scheduled hikes and join the club ($15/year) for weekly hike notices and short-notice hikes that take advantage of special conditions (blooms, cedar swamp freezes, etc).
