The McCully Heritage Project is a natural area made up of 940 acres of hills and hollows in Calhoun County Illinois. The project offers miles of hiking and horse back riding trails, two ponds for fishing and turtle watching, a wetland, forests, native grasslands, and more.
The McCully Heritage Project offers miles of scenic hiking trails winding through wooded hillsides, uplands, a reconstructed wetland and stream bottoms. Scenic overlooks are located along a number of these trails with views of the hollows of Calhoun County and the scenic vistas from the bluffs overlooking the Illinois River.
The property is divided by Crawford Creek Road, with 110 acres to the north and 830 acres to the south.
Trail maps are available at the kiosks in the parking area and restrooms.
Horseback riding is allowed on the South side only
