The Powder Mill Snowmobile Club is dedicated to the enhancement and enjoyment of the sport of snowmobiling. The club currently grooms and maintains approximately 90 miles of trails in Strafford, Carroll and Belknap counties. We cover areas of New Durham, Middleton, Union, Farmington and surrounding areas. Focus areas are the heights of "The Den" - Peaks include Devil's Den, Molly, Bet, and Caverly. Across Merrymeeting Lake, Birch Ridge Community Forest, and Ellis Hatch WMA connecting to the Moose Mountains rounds out the network. Make no mistake riders, these are ROADS, and they can be steep, but the views are remarkable.

When I moved to New Durham, I was so impressed with the PMSC trail network that I joined the club not even owning a snowmobile. PMSC strives to make the trail system enjoyable for year round outdoor recreation. The trails are among the best in the region, led by Mike Gelinas and a cadre of dedicated individuals and businesses including the Weldon family of Merrymeeting Lake Marina. They work closely with the land owners and managers, actively participating in trails/trailhead improvements for properties owned by Southeast Land Trust. They have spearheaded improvements to the Birch Ridge cabin as well!
