Steamboat Ski and Bike Kare has 2 locations, one in downtown Steamboat Springs and the other at the base of Steamboat Ski Resort. Full service and repair, retail and rentals at both locations. Downtown is open 7 days a week, but the mountain store is only open when the chairlifts are running. All riding styles and bikes welcome. Core brands include Giant, Trek, and Niner. We live biking.

I've purchased 4 bikes from SSBK over the years and continue to go in for technical advice regularly. The mechanics and staff are super helpful and knowledgeable. Mechanics work fast to get your bike back to you quickly with no up-sell; they just get you back on the trails asap with a safe-working equipment. The mountain-bike park shop location is great for quick fixes between park laps. It's hard to find shops that cater to DH, XC, and road -SSBK does it all, and does it really well.

I have two bikes from SSBK. The mechanics and staff who work there are the friendliest in town, and they are bike geeks who really know their stuff. I like that they don't work on commission--they are there to listen and help you, not upsell. They also do some great stuff like free ride clinics and donating to help kids in local riding clubs. Highly recommended!

As a female I was a little hesitant when walking into a bike shop. I hate being treated like I don't know what I am talking about. The crew in the shop, both male and female, are very easy going and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and addressed my biking needs. I happily rode away on a brand new Trek and I am stoked. They even have multi ability girl's rides that go out of the shop on Tuesdays.

absolutely the best bike shop on the mountain during the summer time. smaller location on the mountain but i got all my work done on my downhill bike there and they would always drop what they were doing to make sure you could get back out there as soon as possible. or let you ride a demo bike while yours is getting worked on. nice to see a shop that catered to the locals as well as the tourists.
