I have a Biktrix fat tire electric bike. I brought the bike into Jumping Slug and asked them if they could fix my brake squealing issue. They told me that I needed complete new brakes, front and back. They asked if I would be happy with Shimano. Me not being a mechanic, and not knowing anything about repairing my bike brakes, I said sure if you think that is OK. I did not make a deal on a cheaper set of brakes with Jumping Slug, I just wanted them fixed with a safe reliable set of brakes. They replace the brakes front and back at a cost of $212. The old brakes were hooked up and turned on a brake light and shut the power off to the motor when you engage the brakes. The brakes that they put on were missing the switch that did that, and they did not mention that these brakes did not have that capability. I was under the assumption that they were putting on better brakes than I previously had, and that all functions would work in the manner that they had before the new brakes were put on. When I realized that my brake lights did not work, I took the bike back in to ask them about this and they said that it will be another $600+ dollars to add a switch so that the brakes function properly and the lights are connected to the brakes. I feel like I got thoroughly taken and ripped off. I would not suggest using Jumping Slug for anything.
