Wouldn't you get better results by going on a Roadie Forum?

I meant like a specific roadie forum, Pinkbike is primarily a mountain bike website.

Like there are far better BMX forums around and far better Roadie forums too probably. And if I were you i'd just stick some slick tyres on an XC bike, the heavier weight will keep you fitter and when you're inner mountain biker inside comes through you can still go down that cheeky footpath.

Ahhh I get ya, well I've asked on bike radar too, but got no reply, plus I know a few fixed gear riders and road riders on here so just waiting for them to reply.

getting second hand parts is probably better, buying new parts will cost you more than new bike with similar equipment.... don't want to discourage you, that's just my experience Smile
