hey, im thinking of building a street/park bike and i am thinking of having a 12-23 ratio. ihavent seen any street park bikes with that small of a sprocket up front and was wondering if there was a disadvantage or if gearing is just a personal preferance.

thanks

I run 24-14. It's quick but not fast. I do a lot of park riding so it's not too bad.

if you run 3 piece go 25-12 its the best and lightest

A 2:1 ratio is usually best. I run 34:16 pretty fast, quick acceleration, all around good for cruising.

take any bmx set up... 25-9, etc... and ad a tooth to the back making it a 25-10. it evens out mathematically.

read the rules of the forums. ive already made a post about this a while ago. read the rules before you start posting threads.

and because none of you know what your on about..

take your front chainring teeth size divide it by your rear sprocket teeth size and times it by your wheelsize. a good ratio is 55.
