Help me here please. I was assembling some wheels before, but I had same model example and it did not bother me - I just copied it. But now I'm looking to by NS Fundamental rims and it says Standard lacing. No cross-lacing. What is the difference between standard and cross-lacing?
I was googling for it, but I didn't find clear explanation, and possibly articles was misleading, because I didn't see differences.
Tricky to word, but rims have slightly offset holes for the spokes to be laced into. Standrad lacing is when the spoke of one side is laced to the same side as the hole on the rim. Whilst cross lacing is the opposite. The spoke is laced into the opposite side of the rim to the hub flange from were the spoke came.
As i said, a bit of a bitch to word but did that help?
But which is more strong in this case? I was told that standard lacing is much weaker than cross lacing. I'm concerned about that, because I need those NS Fundamental rims for street riding and if standard lacing is much weaker than cross lacing, I will doubt about buying those rims I mentioned above.

Cross lacing is to cope with the power as you pedal, are you building yourself.?
I just followed the person in front, i didn't quite understand the word standard lacing, did you mean radial? it is only good for a front wheel on a race bike in my opinion

Radial is totally different and should only be used on road bikes.
