just wondering will a 150mm fork work on a solo until my 130 mm fox 34 arrives?

I use a 150mm Pike on mine all the time.
I love it.

I'm running a 150mm Pike too...you should do the same, it's only 20mm difference. Do you really think you'll notice it on the trails Big Grin Santa Cruz said a 150mm fork is ok on carbon frames.

Ummm, yes. I just upped my 130 mm Pike to 140 mm, and it did make a noticeable difference. To the better. Cool

Sorry I wasn't very clear in my response. I meant to say that the benefits of more travel up front would improve the ride for most people...I just did a demo @ Santa Cruz last week on a 2017 5010. It had a Fox 34 with 130mm of travel; I feel it was really holding the bike back, put a 140 or 150mm Pike on it and pin it Smile

Ah, I see. Smile I can't say I felt the 130 mm "holding me back", but then my riding is mostly "chunky XC" with lots of roots and rocks. But going to 140 mm made the bike feel better overall. Kind of funny because it made it easier to get up over obstacles too.
Also, the 130 mm Pike was a bit too progressive. With the same 2 tokens in it, the extra 10 mm length made it less progressive too, so now I'm using the full travel as well. tup Maybe that's why such a tiny difference was really noticeable.

Santa Cruz 5010 cc
150 lyriks on mine and it feels great climbs a treat. They really under forked this bike on the stock builds

I have the RCT3 140mm Pike on mine, might have to look at getting the 150mm fitted looking at that above Smile

Speaking of which, does any one know if you can up the 130 pike to a 150 with a new air spring? A shop raised my stock for to 140 (prior to my purchase) and I'd like to go up to 150 but don't want to shell out for a new fork.

Went to 150.... its great. Had to take some spacers of the stem though to keep attack position. $150 for a full service and dampener rebuild and a new 150 air spring, two day turn around... good ole LBS hooked it up.

Your love it, I've long shocked mine now with a 200x57 float x evol so got about 145mm rear travel now with plenty of tyre clearance. Rides great with the 150 upfront

What do Santa Cruz rate the 5010 for upfront?
