can anyone give me any examples of how much stuff costs for the bike shop and not the consumer

I have yet to see a trustworthy bike shop owner that will really care for your bike instead of trying to rip you off.

Nothing is more obnoxious then some punk coming into a shop, knowing exactly how much cost is, and demanding a better deal. That is sacred information that you don't give out to just anyone.

No they have to stay in business. You don't stay in business by giving parts away.
