Boost and preload mean tottaly different things in the dictionary therefore there is a difference, quite a big one at that.

You can't preload a jump on a BMX, and boost would be the correct word. Boosting a jump is when you suck up your bike, and push your arms out in the air, so you are as high as possible.

you preload coming into the jump, if you can...obviously, and boost in the air. theres a little difference, would be kinda hard to start boosting before the jump idk just me i guess

Boosting is when you tuck your bike up and push your arms outs in the air, so you are at the maximum possible height. Sorta like when you bunnyhop and have to tuck up and push your arms out to hop really high.
