Does anyone own any 2004 888r's and know what they are like, if they are any good for light downhill/freeride ect and would 200mm travel be too much for my 2005 big hit. Thanks Nick

i have one on my demo 9, and it honestly is a really awsome fork. it only has rebound adjustments, but its still buttery smooth. its a very simple fork, not a whole lot to go wrong. and i havent had a single problem with it since i have owned it. if you can find a good deal one of these forks, i strongly recomend you go for it (around like 300 USD or so). and it will be fine on your big hit

OK fork......dont get it though cuz the psoitives are as much as the negatives

i owned one for a season and a half....1-Looks Stealth....2-plush 3-and stiff for the big hits...........4-i got it for under 400 bucks 5- WONT DIE EVER

a few bad things i noticed were......1- the stantcions went a greenish black colour after 1 season
2-it lost crazy amounts of oil which i never topped up because it made my fork feel nice and stiff(bad idea dont do this)
3-the seals are shit and wont last if you do lots of DH
4- VERy tall axle to crown height
5-HEAVY AS A TANK

I got mine ages ago and i was very pleased with them
didnt have any problems at all, very plush ect
i got rid of my Dh bike though because it was too heavy

Great forks and i would recommend them even though they are a bit on the heavy side
