Hey, I want your opinion here...what bike is the best for me? I like riding fast downhill, and sometimes compete in races, but i also like to ride freeride and get some air as well, so i would like a ligth and responding bike. I have come up with three bikes that I thinnk looks nice.
1.Sata cruz vp-free 2008 w/boxxer WC... 2.Ironhorse Sunday team 2008. 3.Cannondale Judge DH -07 or 08.
I have a Vp-free with a fox40. I mostly ride fast downhill, quite alot of freeriding and some racing. I absolutely love my vp-free, it's perfect for everything! The vp-free is the lightest bike of those three. My bike weights about 18kg. I'm changeing the fork and shock springs for titanium and the rims for ex823's and run tubeless.
I would go for the VP-Free. I recently got one and have not looked back. Plus this bike can actually climb some hills (Hey, it has to be done from time to time)
i would go with the cannondale judge. they are hand made and a very well known company. my second choice would be the vp free, but the problem is santa cruz is discontinuing them soon.
thanks for the response guys...I think i'm going for the vp-free, but post it if you have any other ideas or if you know about some good parts that I shuld have on it, to get a ligthweitg and strong ride.
The VP-Free is supposed to be a great bike, but unless you can find a 2007, you're gonna have to wait till they release teh 2008. Theyre not being discontinued, they're just not for sale untill sometime this summer. (I can't wait!)

the vp free is going to be a little lighter (usually) but i think the sunday and the judge might be a little easier to downhill i have ridden all 3 and if i had to organize them from favorite to least favorite i would probably say sunday, judge, then the vp free. even though i like all 3 of them alot!
The Judge is a sweet bike and if it is carrying enough speed it can do wonders, although I have to tell you it's not a freeride bike, it's race bike that can jump over things but not with the same ease as other FR/DH rigs. For me the Judge is working like a dream and I'm an enormous rider compared even to the big guys that I meet on my DH-Runs and with the Judge's help everything under my wheels gets powderized
