ok, so i run primo e-brakes (replaced at christmas) with half orange half black koolstop pads on a chrome hazard. when i lightly put on my brakes the let out a mad squeel. i've sanded down my pads and cleaned my rim with rubbing alchohol and it didn't do anything. any idea's? i want new brakes anyway, they wiggle on the mounts. but until then, anybody have any suggestions on how not to be heard from the other side of the park?
one more thing. creaky headset? not too tight, and lots of grease. WHY WON'T IT SHUT UP!
Creaky headset could be due to not enough spacers, put another spacer in and see how it is, I've had the same problem. As for squeeky brakes, either take em off or file the pads down so they're like rough and soft.
toe-in refers to the angle of the pads, like not completely flat to the rim, so u could angle them so the front of the pad touch slightly before. U could have something in the actual bearing, are u running a sealed bearing, if u arent, run the bearings without the cage, u can add a bearing to make up the space. If its sealed, its still possible for the bearing to get messed up. theres a space between the bearing and the outrace of the bearing which is called the clearance. if the headset has previously been cranked down, the clearance could have been taken away causing more friction + sounds.
