Hey i just bought a nice dj bike from here and took it to the LBS for inspection they said it was fine but it bugs me whenever i pull the brakes it squeaks and when im riding it grinds a bit.

And when i pedal hard my cranks are creaking and i think it might be an issue with the bearings or something. Any thoughts? (I am a novice at bikes)

lol i used to have that problem on my 01 Team DH
Found out the pivots needed grease n that cured it...
mabey your BB wasnt properly cleaned or U might have a small pressure crack that you cant even see it...as for the brakes u might have a bent disc or need new pads...mabey they just need to be cleaned...take sandpaper to the pads and smoothen it out a bit...might be it,,,

Could be some oils on your rotors as well, could try cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and rubbing your pads lightly with a very fine grit sand paper.

If you tell people what brakes and what Bottom Bracket/Crankset your running, it may be easier to diagnose a problem.
Also, what bike?

Mate you should`nt just start a thread with out any infomation
we need to know

What bike ?
What brakes ?
what cranks ?
maybe a picture would help ?

and maybe the age ?

sound like your break pads are Contaminated.
Maybe a bent rotor ?

We carnt help you since we dont even know if you have hydrolic breaks or not !

If your unsure about how to take your brake off, i wouldnt recommend sorting it yourself.
simpley take it back to the LBS for a full service

Job done tup

EDIT:
Are the brakes powerful? If not, they are probably contaminated.
Either way, its probably worth replacing the pads now.

If you dont know how to take the crank assembly apart, then I reckon you should take the bike to your LBS and ask them to replace your brake pads and to fix the creaking around your bottom bracket area.

Umm i really dont want to take it to my lbs because when i took it there i asked them to fix it (my brakes were only grinding a bit against the rotor and now they squreach and sounds like its ripping off the rotor, when i got it back) And the cranks they did nothing too. and they charged me 50$ for nothing..

so the only option is to do it myself.

thank you for posting pics.

Brakes: hayes HFX 9 hydrolic disk brakes

right just off my knowlage i would say your brakes are fine some squeek some dont and it sounds like its your bottom bracket mine does the same i would say buy a new bottom bracket and get it fitted or clean your currant one as sometimes its general crap in the bb that makes it sound broken.
