The unique biological make-up and high clay content of the Niagara Escarpment makes Blue Mountain Bike trails quite vulnerable to rain and weather conditions.
Safety of our riders is our number one priority, as is protecting the sustainability of our trails and the ecological balance of the surrounding environment. Standard operating procedures exist for the opening and closing of our mountain bike trails and ensure these factors are considered.
Directly following a weather event involving rain the trails are inspected by either the Blue Mountain Trail Crew or Bike Patrol. The decision to delay opening due to unfavourable conditions may be made after this inspection.
We recognize that this delay in information can be an inconvenience to our guests; therefore we thank you in advance for your patience.

so it says certain ages have to take a rider assessment. And there is only a small definition but does say it'll take like 30 mins as i remember. What do they just watch you ride or put you through like a skills course, and how long does it usually take?
ok two questions does anyone else find it Really tiring riding your downhill bikes on the pump track? and will blue have any man made jumps drops or anything other then that wooden s-turn and a few skinnies?
yes there is 2 of them. one with varying rollers and 1 with baseline same sized rollers
Now I think I remember seeing one. It is on the way to Embryo right? Are they both in that little grassy area? It looked all overgrown when I went last year, didn't even think twice about trying it out.
all pump tracks make you tired. they also get you in shape quick. the point of the pump track is a little more based to the beginner riders who need to learn balance controls and how to position there body in diff situations. the track is also great for people who ride smaller bikes and HT's... SUPER fun on a smaller bike then a full on dh bike.
they already have some little jumps back in back. nothing to serious like before but im sure you will see more added on top of last years additions.
there directions seems to have changed a little in how they use the terrain i think. and prob for the better. the double blacks are a little wider and give the experienced riders a chance to get loose and get there wheels off the ground sometimes. pretty much all about picking the right line and linking a good run all together (weather that means slow or fast thats up to you)
edit: Canadmos - you must of been there early season because the track got a revamp and the WHOLE area is dirt now
Cool sammo thanks for the info i thought pump tracks were for dj and bmx bikes. Blue mountain is fun I went for the first time last summer its alot of fun! can't wait to go back
once you sign the waiver form once, is that the only tim eyou have to sign it or everytime i go?
