How well are the front brakes working with that plate? Do they hold consistantly?
Yeah, the plate is actually pretty solid. It doesn't move around or anything and is nice and stiff. Definitely a good way to get around buying new forks with mounts.
I originally thought you couldn't get them from any Canadian distributors so I ordered it through American mailorder. I however recently found them in the Ten Pack catalogue though. So it looks like you can buy them here in Canada.
Only negative side to it is it's a solid block of hi-ten (I'm pretty sure anyways).
dude who gives a shit what other people think..make ur bike like u want it
I built a bike with a coaster, gyro, two brakes, an old beefy topload stem with no cut-outs, an unslammed seat, an obnoxious brake plate, plastic pegs and shin splitting metal pedals.... Do you really think I based my bike off of trends and what other people think?
I missed what stem you used but I have the perfect 90's Mosh top load that can also be a bottom load as well as a brick with demolition engraved in it. I'm lovin this build so far and it's good to know the front brake plate works decent. I've been thinking of a similar build.
