I think the east coast is where the real accents come out. On a side note, I love beer, have a fur hat, say eh. I play to a bunch of other stereotypes too.
You know what's not a stereotype though, Canadians rag on Americans all the time for stereotyping Canadians. But all Canadians do is rag on Americans based on stereotypes of Americans.
out here on the east coast you get alot of weird accenst out of the cities, like in smaller town newfoundland and nova scotia and stuff. like in the annapolis valley, they talk with a very slight country accent, and in newfoundland they speak newfanese. but in halifax we don't have as big of accents as everyone.
(apparently though we have certain tendancies - like saying "yep" whilst inhaling)
you guys still have accents though. My parents move out to Halifax for something like 4 years and than moved back out west. That was 25 years ago. Yet still people can pick out a Halifax accent that he managed to pick up there (I don't notice it...but other people do). Than there's us Albertan's. Apparently according to some Newfie Islanders that we met...Albertan accents are strong. Hahaha..

im living in the valley know havent noticed that accent, who knows maybe im used to it
yes people are stereotyping us as being people who talk funny and live in extremely cold weather all year round and only play hockey and shit like that but everyone gets a certain generalized idea about any different culture which isnt really ever true people just think thats how we act or talk because they have never really been to canada or if not that i gess they want to make fun of us, but another thing i would liek to bring up is the fact that we speak canadian everyday and over time i think we begin to develope a small accent that we do not really no we speak but subconciously we do speak. this is just my opinion though. i must say it does piss me off when people ask us canadians that.
Regardless, Canadia still sucks and is still cold. Though the vast amounts of beaver that exist north of my grand country fills me with excitement.
Eh?
In my imagination all of you read this post and said "Whoots he talkin' aboot? Eh?". Seriously.
