Think propedal, it has a threshold you need to overcome before it's supple/

platform shocks have extra low speed compression damping to eliminate pedal bob, but it also stops some smaller hits from being absorbed. the roco doesnt have this so is very supple on small stuff but allows more pedal bob.

ok sweet, id rather have a non platform shock then cause not too many people would be pedaling a dh bike on long rides

I'd rather a shock with a platform for racing, and one without for casual riding.

I was just thinking the same thing

Does anybody know if the Vivid has a platform?

think it has low speed compression, its a similar thing to propedal.

Nah, for racing that platform comes in handy, it doesn't feel quite as good, but it responds better to your. The non-platform shocks are more comfortable, but aren't as good for pedaling.

Enough to be noticed. It's like, heavier or lighter rims for racing? You'll gain the bonus with lighter rims, but form freeride, you want heavier rims that won't break. There's not a HUGE difference, but there is one.
