Granted I've never taken it apart on my operator. Any previous bike I have done this on was a bitch. Required lots of force. First time I thought I was doing it wrong, brought it to the bike shop, they gave up and told me I ovalized my head tube. Took it to a better shop and they had it out in 5 min with some solid force

from Kona Tech.......
The Operator does not have cups. It has a spool shaped insert that stiffens the front end. The headset is best described as an integrated type.

These are the headset part numbers from FSA.

H2036{NO.5-2} for the compression ring

MR054 {873-2RS} top bearing

MR110 {073-2RS} lower bearing

H6079 {NO.55-1-6} fork crown race

I guess that means the "cups" dont come out on a 2015 operator

Ah. I see now, interesting.

Bummer, I guess that means no angleset!

HI all, I need rear axle for 2013 operator. According to my Kona dealer they are not available in central warehouse in Europe. Can you recommend a store in US for Kona parts?
Or alternatively - can I just put this saint axle and tighten from both sides": http://www.t-bike.pl/os-piast-przelotowych-saint-183x12-fhm810.html

I would think any 12x150 based axle would work.

Does anyone know if the 2012 Operator frame is the same as the 2012 entourage frame? They look identical but I cant tell if there are subtle differences. In the last 2 weeks I have seen 2 entourage frames break clean in half at the exact same location, right on the weld of the head tube. I am starting to get nervous about my operator!

Nope, the operator and the entourage have not the same frame. They have different geometry specs and amounts of travel (op 200mm, en 170mm). BUT: They are made out of the same material and have similar look. Just check your operator for cracks before you go out and ride, then you'll be good. Normally bicycleframes don't just break in two parts. Usually before they break you are able to hear creaking noises or see signs that the frame is going to break soon. (dents, really deep scratches)

Was looking at a used 2013 Kona Operator( medium)
I usually run a dropper post.

How far into the frame does the seatpost go?

Thanks!

2013 is still aluminum right? It only goes in like 6" (that's what she said) on the aluminum bikes.
