not really, i crank it down to 165mm, it rides really nices and jumps very well. Im not 16, so with my all my years of experience, and what i use this bike for, its awesome. its light and fast as hell. An excellent DH entry bike for my wife.

Is there anything special about this crown or is it just a replacement?

Yes - long story short it gives me back the inch of travel I lose due to the tall head tube.

It's lighter than the stock crowns (I think it's listed at 1.67 lbs) which is plus since the fork itself is around 7-8lbs Confused

I also swapped out the top crown with a Risse Racing dropped crown which gives me some adjustments with respect to ride hide up front; the stock upper crown bolted about a millimeter under the top caps.

With the dropped upper crown (which is probably all I really needed) I actually have yet another inch of travel that I can play with.

This doesn't mean I have an 203mm fork now - it just means that the lowers won't smack into the top dust covers anymore.

And the Risse Racing dropped crown is also lighter than the stock crown. Smile
