I did read. And you posted in a downhill section. You are going to have define your type of hardcore downhill, because on the easiest downhill trail here my old fork blew after three days, an entry level xc fork.
So honestly, start saving, buy used, or rethink the type of riding you are doing, if you actually are doing xc, then by all means, buy the 96$ fork.

hello i just got lyrik solo air for my Giant STP. i mostly ride freeride and DH till now i've been using RS tora solo air 130mm. NO STREET do you think that i should worry about my frame???
if yes maby i should just lower it to 140mm and only during racing make it for 160mm ??

what do you think guys??
i'll post some pics tommorow thanks a lot
I wouldn't want to go over 140mm on an STP but to be fair the 100mm Argyles w/medium spring on my STP0 seem to do good service for freeriding, 160mm just seems a step too far for an STP. if you are going to the expense of a Lyrik then a .243 or DMR steel frame isn't much of a step.
As I said before a .243 would be my frame of choice and triple crown fork just to keep the steering sharp as the doule crown fork are just too long (axle to crown) to keep the steering sharp enough for my liking. I may even get round to buiding one some day when funds, space and time to ride the dam thing allow.
Hey guys I`m looking into getting a new hardtail frame in the states. I currently live in Chile and I´m going up soon to my grandma`s house in Cali, so I was looking into frames and I liked these: - 24bikes Letoy 4 - Intense Tazer - Yeti dj - Orange mii - Cove foreplay
The first two I love, but I don`t think the Intense can handle a 8-inch fork and the Letoy 4 is like made in France so it`s hard to get. boohoo. The yeti is dj/4x. and the other two I don`t really like.
Could you guys give me your opinion on these frames and tell me where I could get the Letoy 4 in the states? and tell me about other good downhill/dj frames? Not NS bikes, there too thin.
Heres a foto of my current bike:
