Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say you fail... Maybe just that you ride too hard, and whoever put up that threadjack picture needs to edit it out because frankly, it hasn't gone off topic at all (except for like one page)
The lower bearing exploded on my friends headset. By design you aren't supposed to take your fork off. That's a freaking shitty design imo.
i took mine off twice at whislar and when i was dj my fork hit the back of a landing hard and the fork flexed but the headset still runs like new. if you put grease up in there it runs like a dream. (only needs grese after ALOT of rain!)
ive had two pikes and havent had a single problem, the only problem is with the maxel, the one on my new 426s likes to come undone
great thread, one too look at if im looking for new parts in the future
Mine had so much flex that there was thick rubber markings on the inner side of the arch of the lowers, from the tire flexing against the fork. But, it didn't crack and it was abused for a couple years and it's still going.
Anyway, someone said it earlier the best it could be said.. everything wears out eventually. I'm stoked on my King headset, Hope Pro 2 hubs, and Thomson stem right now though.
yer thats true, i dbout there really is a fit it forget it componant, maybe for a season or two at most
I'll have some pics of my chain guide up soon, it got made in my backyard and I haven't dropped my chain since it went on (November). *EDIT* Here we go:
2401400
2401399
It's made of a block of self lubing plastic and went inside the DMR thingy (which was shit and broke 3 times). Truly a fit and forget part.
