Hey TR250 experts, is there a way to tell the difference between the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 TR250s? Looking at buying a black one and owner says 2013 but I'm not convinced

2013 models are easy to spot since they have unique two-coloured paint schemes.

On the contrary, if it looks like this, it’s older than 2013:

Good luck with your buy and enjoy! They are fun bikes.

Thanks! Turned out to be a 2011. Emailed Transition with the SN. The forks were the giveaway

Did anyone run one with a 160mm fork? I had a banshee darkside with a 160mm fox 34 and it was pretty nice to flip the bike and freeride stuff. Tr250s the same being a freeride bike?

15.2KG? Mine is over 43lbs. No idea where the weight is coming from, I do have a Totem Air and a dropper post but that doesn't nearly account for a 10lb difference.

Saved most of my weight on light rims, hubs and single ply tires, was at one point running crossmarks
also a TI spring,

Nice, that's commitment. I've been riding mine a bit at the local trails, what a pain to pedal. Especially with only being able to run a 125mm dropper. 150mm might be possible too but that 25mm isn't going to get me in optimal pedaling position anyway lol.

Hi! I have Black 250,2013 model. Ride it last time before corona. Now ride on Commecal Meta.
is someone try to change wheels size?
Rear wheel, maybe is possible to upgrade to 27.5?
What about Fox VAN? I think, changing "pants" from some new Fox models can bring me to bigger wheel size?
I want to give for this bike the second life...

Got a question for all you Tr250/450 experts. I’ve got 1st gen TR450 frame, and am missing the axle nut. Transition no longer sells them. Anyone have a line on these nuts aftermarket?

Axle nut? Do you mean the smaller retention bolt that threads into the end of the axle?

Nope, I mean the actual nut that fits into the frame, that the axle then threads into after it goes through the frame and hub.
