This might be a really stupid question, but can someone explain what's with the asymmetry here?

It's because the delta system takes up quite some room in the BB are of the bike. To fit a Crank in there and give some room for pedalling they moved all the linkage stuff to the left:-) But the swingarm and main pivot are actually centered. :-)

actually its so the bike is blaanced

its moved over to the left to counter balance the weight of the drive side

i think it looks really freaking bizarre and would have to avoid looking at my bike from the back

MANY full suspension bikes are asymmetrical. hell even the kona stinky is.
it's usually to accommodate the drivetrain.

The frames are available in White (powder coated) for $3050 or Black (anodized) for $3150 with a Fox RC4 rear shock. The bikes are available in Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large.

Guess I'll put a sid on mine. That'll work great.

Ahem. I'd say no to a totem. Use a longer fork to balance with the rear.
