Only took it to the knee once Wink Was only commuting on that bike at the time. It also worked as a theft prevention device... once I took it off and replaced it with a regular spacer the bike got stolen Razz

I built my whole DH bike from scratch as my thesis project to become Industrial Designer.
The project I did it when I was very poor, in Chile, with about 400€ for 2 people per month to live.
No money for the project, but somehow I managed to bring it on.
Here is the story.

I knew the border between ghetto and artesanal manufacturing will be very thin and perhaps crossed, but you cannot imagine through all I had to pass in Chile to do it.
We don't have aluminium (decent alloy) suppliers, not cromoly suppliers, most of advanced materials are limited to be used on the mining and military industry, then I had to dodge all the difficulties of the way.
Perhaps the producion processes where not ghetto, but how I did to get all, has ghetto spirit hehe.
Anyways, I'll try to find my teenager pics where I used old socks as Oil whipers for my blown open bath forks haha.

that was his old one, he made a new one with my help (he didnt have a mill to do the slot between the steer clamp bolts)

Plus I took too much off the clamps. Learned from my mistake and started over.

Milled slot
One piece faceplate
Shaved and hollowed out body
135g with Ti and alu pinch bolts
138g full Ti
