No, lower your shock pressures. If you gain weight you've got to pedal it back up the hill again. Look at gaining strength to aid bike handling, don't just try and gain weight to make your shocks work. That's just backwards. Remember, there's a reason why racers are lightweight, the less weight you've got to pedal the easier it is.
