I'm currently racing a Balfa, I'm fine with it. Ofcourse a lighter bike would be nice but I cant afford one at this point. Here it is

I'm sure you could build the balfa around 40 pounds if you wanted, how much does it weigh right now?

The beauty of building bikes now a days in the range of parts out there. You can build a solid rig and get the weight in around 38-40, or just say f-it and build a heavy pig that is going to take whatever you throw at it.

Lots of good deals out there on BB7's. I built mine up from scratch.
She isn't a skinny bitch but she likes it rough.

Not really... Bulletproof parts on a bulletproof frame. I don't race anymore so weight really isn't much of a concern. I just want to know when I huck it its going to stay in one piece. I can heal for free, the bike can't.

i guess i dont typically accosiate race bikes with being bullitproof.

sounds like you need a banshee morphine!

maybe look at the Appalanch, as its a lot newer (nothing wrong with the older frames tho) but getting spair parts might be hard.

I will allow myself a little advertisement, because it'll be probably interesting for you, Balfa lovers Wink

I've just launched new Balfa website including probably everything connected with our bikes: geometry, technicals, suspension design notes, information about spare parts and accessories, reviews, logos, even link to this topic Wink There is also something about Appalache Real (data, comparison with BB7).

Site is currently at www.balfa.wooyek.pl
(domain is Polish, but don't worry, the site is in English)

I'm still working on improving it, so if you'd like to participate - please, contact me.
