Does anybody know if you use this same method to lower a Rock shox Recon?

nope, 10mm high. i used a 30mm high, 22,2mm diameter spacer (i cut it of an old handlebar)

if the inside of the fork is the same than downtuning it would work the same way Wink

I don't know if the inside of it is the same, that's why I asked the question. I didn't want to take it apart on my living room floor if I couldn't lower it, or get parts to lower it. The pics on the rock shox site don't help much.

usually because it changes the headangle making it slacker whch is more desirable for street, also because most strret rides dont want alot o travel they just want some to take the edge off doing bigger stuff

Nah it makes the head angle steeper. Making you bike feel a little more BMXish. also a lot of peole dont need 100mm of travel.
