i've been looking at the universal cycles wheelbuilder and came up with this:

front rim: mavic 721 or 719 (719 would drop a quarter pound), black
rear rim: mavic 721, black
dt swiss competition double butted spokes, black
brass nipples in black
dmr revolver front 110mm 20mm axle hub (208g)
dmr revolver six-pawl cassette rear hub (345g)

total cost is just under 400 bucks, plus 55 for shipping and about 40 for duties/customs, and the wheelset is over a pound lighter than my current wheelset. i'm not getting it though, but it's something to mull over in the future if i sell these wheels for a good price.

i was looking at hope pro2 hubs, but it would be over a hundred dollars difference for literally 70g difference in the hubs, and for the colour. not worth it in my book.

edit: great, it appears as though the dmr 6-pawl cassette hubs only come in 36h in the back.

what wheels are you building for them to drop a pound off your equalizer wheels? afaik, the rims are 550g each... so i'm guessing all the weight loss is in the spokes and hub?

well im building up synrcos DP 28s, laced to WTB hubs, and double butted spokes

the rear is 320 and the front is 200 and the rims are 545 each

the hubs i have now are really heavy

so? grow up, some people like to add numbers in their spare time to get the best for their money when they're not riding.

AWESOME.

Sticky, faster rolling than Schwalbe table tops (we did gravity drag races down a slightly sloped sidewalk), and freakin sick looking!!! I did rip a couple knobs off skidding on really rough concrete once though, kinda disappointed at that.
