If the geometry listed on Greenfish's site is correct, then that Haro has crazy-steep head-tube and seat-tube angles as it is. The shorter fork will make the head angle at least 1.5° steeper - maybe more - which would give it the same HT angle that's commonly used for road bikes and a ST angle that's into the realm of triathlon bikes.
Thanks r-m-r, thats what i was wondring with the geometery. If i can save $700 or make that then i could get a 06 888vf, or rcx2.I know that should work, but for the price would it be worth it?
lol. Didnt think haro was that bad. Ive done some pretty impressive drops on my escape and hasnt broken yet. But wouldnt the 888 fix the geometry? What would be a better frame for under 700?
Half of all frames are below average, so it's not that much of an insult...and I didn't say you had a lot of good options on your budget.
If that geometry is correct (I have a hard time believing it, since it's SO far off from anything else), then even a 2005 888 could only get it back to "all mountain" numbers. You'd need a Super Monster to get a 71° head-tube angle (assumed to be measured with a fork having travel equal to that of the rear) into the realm of typical freeride/DH geometry.
Gotcha ya, but if greenfish is correct, then a 888 should be perfect cause its 200mm. The stock werx7 fork is 180mm. Is there something i am over looking? If u look at harobikes.com and u see the fully built werx7, it appears to be 71degrees.
I hope to understand thios by tomarrow night
Edit-Ha, greenfish's geometry is messed, the haro geometry is 67. And almost all their specs arnt right...

In that case, it's not so bad. Instead of looking at a sweet fork on a below-average frame with weird geometry, you're looking at a sweet fork on a below-average frame with normal geometry.
I should mention that I'm referring to the RC2X as "a sweet fork"; the VF isn't anything special. It has a solid and reliable chassis, but unimpressive damping.
On beyond bikes i could get the SL ATA for $800. Or on Jensonusa i could get the 888 RC2X for $700. Im leaning towards the RC2X cause its a good 100 cheaper.
I think that's the better choice. The SL had some serious reliability issues and, if you don't need the adjustable travel, the only advantage is a little less weight. If a slightly weight reduction was all you wanted, I'd suggest a Boxxer Race or Team.
I'm quite fond of my 888 RC2X and I think you'd be very happy with one, too.
I found the boxxer race 07 with a diabolous headset for 650. My only problem is im not a fan of rockshox or manitou. So i think ill aim for the 888RC2X. Does the RC2X have a 1.5 headtube?
hehe, yeah a steer tube. I guess ill will need it then. So far my list includes a werx7 frame(550), Azonic recoil 150mm rear hub(100), sunline headset reducer(90), and a 888 RC2X(700). 1440 total, which might mean i may or may not be getting it Anything else i need?
