its a hub that lets you roll backwards without having to pedal backwards.

no freecoasters arent normal hubs because normal hubs that are on 99% of bikes dont let you roll back without pedalling.
to roll back on a normal bike you have to pedal backwards.

okay so next tim your on your bike try and roll backwards without your pedals moving backwards. this will not happen your pedals will move backwards.
with freecoaster hubs your pedals will not move backwards so you can roll backwards alot easier.
