|I always tend to add parts to a bike then get the frame last, its probably because im too impatient to save lol,

Im going to get a Colony Hell Stallion to replace this frame, when i put it together i will post it up on this post for anyone who is subscribed

The frame i used to ride was welded and I rode that frame with the weld for years, I hit 8-10 stairs and everything on it and it was fine, the only problem was how the weld looked but I would rather have it working than looking "cool"

You got lucky. Welding involves adding metal to the metal that is already there. When you break a weld it isnt the frames tubing that gives way but the metal added to the frame during welding.

Welding over a weld is like bandaid on a gunshot wound. Might look good, but there are issues underneath.

a good welder would be able to weld it no problem if he knows wat hes dooing hel use the right pre treat heat seaquence and the right grade of electrode then post heat treat seaquence IT WILL BE FINE
wen i talk about heat treat dont get scared off this can be done using propane/oxygen blow torch not a big industrial furnace

I would ride it. If i welded it. I welded my friends frame and it is perfect. go to ridenow's profile and look at his vodoo.

wrongo. for tig welding it is called the filler rod and for mig welding it is called wire. But then again what would i know i dont work in a welding shop or anything.

i snapped my old dh frame in half on the down tube and i got it welded by a guy who does welds on aeroplanes and it is still going, it will be alot cheaper than a new frame.
