That is your opinion, his may differ though, and looks don't affect how a bike rides.
true but as this thread was asking for peoples opinion i thought i would give mine. Norcos are overprised and look hideous. they are effectively rip offs of specialised bikes!!!!!
jealous much? rather my shore one than your bike Razz

btw, you just said that norco's are overpriced and look hideous, and that because of that they are just like specialized to the point of actually ripping them off. so you're saying that specialized are overpriced and look hideous. (i can draw you a picture...)

you are aware of that right?
yes i would say the new big hit and sx are f*ck ugly, however the old (2006 and 2007) sx's and enduro are possibly some of the simplest yet coolest looking bikes out there, and the demo has always been ugly. I also think that the new enduro's are terrible and they should bring back the old one Smile

hey, my friend has £3000 to spend on a freeride bike, thats 5510 for you canadians, or 4900 for you americans. could you guys reccomend him some bikes that will withstand a fair amount of abuse, were talking like 30ft drops and things, thanks alot guysSmile

theres almost an undless amount of nice bikes that your buddy could pick up for that price, even more if you include used ones ( there are some amazing deal out there) so it would be helpful if your describe what kind of terrain it would be most used on, or if there is any specific thing/feel he would like it to be.

a commencal mini dh might be worth a look if you do downhill and trails as well as freeride

sx trails are nice but have a pedal bob issue and arent quite as strong

cos they have an awesome frame

Ok, yes the furious is a damn good frame, but its useless if your parts (and the furious spec is just a big ball of fail) are constantly dieing

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/commencal/furious-cg-2009-mountain-bike-ec017333?query=furious

i wouldnt say its underspecced

all youd need to change is handle bars (heavy as) and the chain guide

its a better spec than my supreme dh that cost more
although tbh i knew when i bought mine i was paying for the frame and basic componentry
