Like others have said, all pads will wear the paint down. Get chrome rims if you don't want wear... Or, black chrome for the person wanting black rims... Don't go brakeless cause you fear a little wear...

I always put function over form, and I think anyone who decides to run brakeless just because their bike has a black rear rim and they don't want it getting scuffed up is a bit of a loser.
