does anyone know if there are any added perks of adding a cage to a car other than just protective measures? i've heard of enhanced chassis rigidity but i was just curious if there was any others? and maybe structural differences between a bolt in and one welded to the frame... thinking of getting one for my e36
rigidity and safety are the two biggest things. you can tie a cage into the rear struts as well to stiffen up suspension flex, as well as any other twisting forces or flex in the cabin. aren't the e36 a unibody so they don't have a frame anyways?
What do you do with your car? Any track driving or have you done any powertrain modification?
it just has some Dinan bolt ons; full exhaust, intake manifold, cold air intake, and a Dinan chip. and for suspension it has a full Bilstien track setup. with front and rear strut braces.
Have you honestly encountered an issue with rigidity? I would put the money else where for right now if I were you because you are probably putting down about 250rwhp. When you hit above 350rwhp then I would suggest it.

so my friend bought a lowrider and the things bitchin, i thought it would be all stupid until he handed me the controls to the hydraulics and i was all up in that shit.
