Shooting in ProTune and then grading it later (or using GoPro's App) works really well and makes the color and contrast really pop. I also use the 1080-wide setting (I think that's what it's called) that exports 1080p video but takes the full field of view and then compresses it into wide-screen. This is important on chest footage because you really want that vertical field of view (if you shoot in plain 1080p you lose a little of the top and bottom of the frame which gives you less context as to what's going on with the bike).

I don't know if I'm too skinny or my chest is shaped weirdly, but I have a really hard time getting the chest cam to stay seated, it ends up wobbling even when the straps are as tight as they go. Still trying to figure out what to do with that. I've ended up having to use the warp-stabilizer in Premiere Pro on a lot of my chest footage just to smooth it out a bit.

Hope this helps.

This ProTune you say? I dont see that anywhere on my GoPro or when I link it to my phone in the settings. I have the Hero3+Silver... just got it at Christmas too so newer edition. And on the chesty mount thats what I use, I have it as tight as I can handle and I have it as high on my chest as I can, it seems pretty good at shooting vids. I almost have the shoulder straps close to as small as they go, camera sits basically on the lower half of pecks and right in middle, I also dont run it upside down either, I push it all the way back and tighen er down good. My field of view is perfect its the getting it to YouTube is my issue

Can anyone recommend a good video editing software for the Sony FDR-X1000V 4K Action Cam? I just got it for Christmas and the Sony Movie Creator software doesn't seem to have an option to add audio tracks. I used Windows Movie Maker, but for some reason when I added an audio track, the total file size shrunk and the video doesn't seem as sharp as the original file. I don't know if it compressed the file or what. Also does anyone have aftermarket mounts that will work for this cam? I'm currently using a Contour roll bar mount, (that I already had) attached to my top tube. I like the mount, but I'd like some more options. Here is a video with and without the audio track added.

I use Adobe Premiere Elements 13 as my editing software - relatively inexpensive compared to the Pro level applications and does the job that I use it for.

Canon C100 - Any users out there ?

Question - Filming at 50fps vs 30fps I know this sounds dumbass as it's what I do for a living....but will there be a file size difference ?

I'm always shooting 50fps just because I like the look of it more than traditional 30fps jitter across the screen...but the file sizes are huge out of this camera...I record directly onto a Atomos Ninja 2 and edit in FCPX, it renders out at a Gig a minute !

What say you ?

Maybe could be still useful for the ones that are struggling with the chesty mount:
