Yeah, but you need the super long 131 BB spindle option for it to work... Which makes the setup heavier, weaker, and looks a little janky. Also, those cranks wouldn't really match your modern style build. The chainring is also steel, so these can't be light at all. And, you can't change the chainring, which could be really annoying for you in the future, which would put me off them period.
My friend just got the FSA Vero/RPM cranks, and they are great/cheap.
Now that I think about it, IMO, get used vintage road cranks and run them with a 110 mm BB. Unless someone beat on them, which is rare with road cranks, there always in pretty good condition. You can the top quality of yesteryear for the price of today's bilge. Better alloy, better forging, better finish. You can also run them with gears if you get a longer BB.
I've got something for discussion(roadbike.....fixie too i guess) ....i was in the science building at school yesterday waiting for my girlfriend, and i was just dawdling around kinda bored, and i set a piece of white printer paper on a scale: 4.66g! so i figure trying to "shave" a bit of weight off the bike is actually not a bad idea.
For example, grinding off the teeth on the Bottom of my pedals (that i dont use) , drilling a hole in the front "cap" of my stem that clamps the bars, drilling 3 medium holes on each side of the bottoms of my drops, cutting down the seat post...ect.
28g in an ounce, so just by an hour with a drill and a file you could get rid of a good few ounces For Free....and with out messing up the structural integrity (if you know what your doing, and work out the math with the forces, torsion etc.)
I think this hasn't taken off because we already have a fixed gear discussion thread and a few post your bike threads. Maybe this could be the road bike discussion thread?
