I recently bought the 2020 RockShox Pike DJ and have yet to have any issues with them. I was between the Pikes and Fox 36 831s and decided to save $200 and go with the Pikes. No regrets

This is exactly what im trying to decide between. I have always had rockshox. The Lyric and world cup and have always liked the feel, so naturally I lean towards the pike dj, but I keep hearing of issues coming up, mostly from early models and now, from Don, issues with the current one. Might save a bit more for the fox

Ive tried the 40 and just like the feel of Rockshox more. The things I like more dont really apply to dirt jumps though, but its hard to switch brands. But if it breaks I don't want it

I was same as you but got sick of problems

I’m not an all Fox guy either bc I had major problems with the Fox X2 piece of crap lol

After seeing so many people destroy Pike DJ, I just decided to stay away from them. I know of at least 15 people that broke them that I've met riding. Not worth it. usually the damper breaks within the first 4 months. I'm an All Fox guy personally. I used to run 831s and a float dps which worked fantastic on my ticket. Also run a 36 with an X2 that again works fantastic. you pay a bit more for the fox but I don't have to service a blown damper every half year for 150 bucks.

Yea I cant stand to have something on my bike that breaks often. So, I think save a bit more and Fox 831 it is. I really appreciate the help!
