This is the first time I've heard about anyone learning 180's before roll back. What happens after you 180 then? Whenever I see a new person on a bike, the first thing they try is to roll backs. Maybe I just spend too much time at the skatepark...
So are rollbacks basically fakies? Or what? I tried to 180 before I learned to fakie (still can't fakie right). I basically hop 180, land and then pedal away...
Yes, rollbacks are fakies.
The fakie is the part where you pivot out, and the rollback is exactly what it sounds like. Rolling backwards. And a half-cab is a 180, rollback, fakie.

I think lots of different people people call it different things. As far as I know a fakie is rolling backwards. And a roll back means the same thing.
fakie and rollback are the same thing you can call that going backwards..
half cabs are when you hop out of a fakie/rollback or going backwards and 180 hopping out, pedal away
full cabs are when you 360 out of a fakie/rollback and slide out normally or going backwards, doing a 360, keep going backwards and turn around, pedal away
