Nah,mostly people buy shit because it looks good how many people now a days actually buy stuff for a purpose although i do like the shimano line saint just offers better knockability and more power full brakes for us not so slim people.

i still think saint looks good , and yes of course even on xc routes its always good to know that your bikes has a bit of durability and can be kncoked about and isnt going to break
