Well Since I started this for set up and product news . He is an interesting find.
Cult BMX and salt have dropped a new chain that has gone unnoticed in the 1/8 chain wars. Here is the P121 HD.
Basically its a khe collapse or whippermann IG8 in half link form. Great if you run an 8t driver or have a 9t , want to run something stronger than a 510HD and slam your rear. The design brings back the bushing and uses thicker plates making a chain the links won't snap or links that come apart within a short period on extreme usage .

eh, i'll stick to my 710sl with single halflink in that case. but im still into having a slammed rear.

710sl is fine as long as you run a 55-58 gear inch . past that they tend to fail. A lot of people do not realize the torque is a big factor in running a chain. I run 60+ so I require a stronger chain than the sl. 710 kmc 510HX good past that. I also put a lot of stress on mine now with the roll out to manual . But that may be corrected with the new technique I am learning. But I only paid 14 for my KHE so it was a deal and a chain that will last for a long time.

I only run 60 gi because I still ride trails . If I didn't I would switch to 55 in a second. I am finding out really fast why it's the bmx standard

im past 60Gi and have a 710sl... uh oh.

i dont hear many bad noises coming from my drivetrain, and my chainline looks good too, so i hope thats enough to keep it going. if not ive tracked down a few KHE collapse chains so ill probably try one of those out.

What gear inch would 30-9 be?

Posted: Dec 13, 2011 at 2:16 Quote
we need your wheel size

if its 24" you go 30/9 x 24 = 80 gear inches
for 26" you go 30/9 x 26 = 86 2/3 gear inches

those are both f*cking heavy ratios. the average is about 55-60.

26'

And what would be the equivalent to 33-9 on 20'?
