No. All he means is that when Proper made that stem, the CNC'd all the un-neccisary material out, without reducing the strength of the item, but keeping it light weight. Most stems these days have been CNC'd in some way or another to save weight.

Depends on the rider. For me it would be fine but for someone like Drew (drewfunk) or Mike (lettusdude) it could be a problem.

Very strong shear wise. My old DK stem was a solid block of steel. They dont clamp the bars to well. And I don't know what the hell docta is talking about.

i have one of those dk stems, they are a solid rock i keep it in my room in case someday i have to use it as a weapon.

I don't know about Diamondback, but my Haro stem was/is 100% fine. I know got a Premium Nine stem, which is also a Haro product under the Premium name...
