For DJ/Street I'd rather not use gloves, but for Winter and cold weather I have some heavy duty Fox PolarPaws, their uber warm.

The best gloves i ever had were my Oakley factory pilot gloves. I think they were made of kevlar or something cause they were really strong, and they had these little silicone fingure grips so that you never lost grip on your lever.

in the end, it doesn't really matter which glove you choose. Any glove will give you protection, but there are others that will offer more protection, but also more $$.
If you're getting a glove from Dakine, Fox, Oakley, 661 or mace you're gonna be good to go
